Pillars of Introspection

The Category is…

Part laboratory, part sideshow-alley realness, The Category is… is BIFEM’s first ever immersive platform that invites audiences into an array of simultaneous activities across the Saturday of the festival. From individual audience immersion VR experiences to group participatory installations for 20 audience members, this suite of participatory works is an amazing collection of new explorations into the very nature of music and ritual, and remarkably all are FREE!

PILLARS OF INTROSPECTION: VIRTUAL MUSIC (2019) WP
CLOVIS MCEVOY

Clovis McEvoy’s new work fuses composition and technology into a fully immersive digital environmental work. Virtual Reality goggles and headphones transport the participant into an abstract world where sound and light become the exploratory tools that result in unique compositional experiences defined by the player and their interactions in this other-space. The composer will be present to answer your questions and to guide you into the experience.

1 participant per session.
