Listening Barrier

The Category is…

Part laboratory, part sideshow-alley realness, The Category is… is BIFEM’s first ever immersive platform that invites audiences into an array of simultaneous activities across the Saturday of the festival. From individual audience immersion VR experiences to group participatory installations for 20 audience members, this suite of participatory works is an amazing collection of new explorations into the very nature of music and ritual, and remarkably all are FREE!

LISTENING BARRIER: A PARTICIPATORY SOUND INSTALLATION AP
ANN ROSÉN

Welcome to the world of Ann Rosén’s barriers: hand-crafted wool knee-cuffs interwoven with responsive real-time electronics. Come and sit with Ann as she guides you through the subtle art of knee-cuff playing, something which not only requires an intricate inner thigh control, but most importantly, the art of listening. Sessions commence when participants are settled.

Audience seating for 80, but only 4 participants per session. Best rock up early for this one!
