The under-five-year-old Friday morning concert is a BIFEM favourite amongst many of the over-five-year-old BIFEM artists and composers, who also attend. So things will get very interesting at this year’s Cushion Concert, when our audience also become our performers! Composer Charles MacInnes invites you to perform a concert of improvised sound works with him, making musical instruments from large sheets of old paper and learning how voices and body percussion can conjure up a thunderstorm. Discover how numbers can turn into rhythms, and help tell the story – with sounds and movement – of relocating thousands of bats from the Botanic Gardens to a new home up the river. All ages welcome and no prior musical experience required. Bring your own musical instruments if you wish.

Charles MACINNES, Composer | Presenter
