Natasha Conrau


Natasha Conrau is a Melbourne based violinist and teacher who completed her Masters of Music Performance at the Victorian College of the Arts after studying with Miwako Abe and Helen Ayres. During her Masters degree, Natasha received the Kate Flowers Scholarship and was Concertmaster for the VCA Symphony Orchestra. Whilst studying, Natasha also performed extensively with the Australian Youth Orchestra, including their 2010 International Tour to China, Europe and the UK. Natasha currently works as a freelance violinist, performing on both modern and baroque violin with ensembles such as Victorian Opera, Orchestra 1788, Arcko Symphonic Project, Orchestra Victoria, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Gloriana Chamber Choir, and the Australian Philharmonic Orchestra. Natasha is most often found in a recording studio or per- forming on stage with Australian singers and bands such as The Twoks, Nina Ferro, Suzannah Espie, Grand Salvo, and Matthew Kenneally. Natasha’s most recent musical project is the contem- porary trio Solstice, which she founded with pianist Georgina Lewis and cellist Steph Arnold. The trio’s focus is on collaborating with and commissioning works by local composers, and in 2016 Solstice has performed and recorded with Melbourne musicians such as Xani Kolac and Nat Bartsch.
