After her musical studies and diplomas obtained in Italy (piano, composition, choral music and choral direction, analysis and piano reduction of scores, master in composition), Lara Morciano continued her training and artistic activities in France, especially at IRCAM and at PSL Research University (PhD SACRe).
Her compositions have been performed in many festivals, including Presences - Radio France; IRCAM - Centre Pompidou; The Venice Biennale; Musica – Strasbourg; Ultima- Oslo, International Gaudeamus Music Week – Amsterdam; Warsaw Autumn Festival and Nuova Consonanza - Rome.
She works with ensembles including the Ensemble Intercontemporain, Court Circuit, Contrechamps and with performers such as Hae Sun Kang, Mario Caroli and Claude Delangle. She has received commissions from numerous festivals, ensembles and institutions, including the French Ministry of Culture; the Ensemble Intercontemporain, IRCAM - Centre Pompidou, the Venice Biennial and the ZKM of Karlsruhe.
She won the Tremplin 2008 competition (IRCAM and Ensemble Intercontemporain) and in 2012 the International Composition Competition Giga-Hertz Award in Germany.
