Susannah Ng

Melbourne violinist Susannah Ng has performed extensively in Europe, Asia and Australia, including appearances at the Melbourne International Festival, the Festival de Musique d'Entrecasteaux in France and at the Lowlands, Uitmarkt and Prinsengracht festivals in Holland.

She studied with Yossi Zivoni in London, Olga Martinova in Amsterdam (where she was based until 2006) and previously with Spiros Rantos and Miwako Abe at the Victorian College of the Arts. Susannah was a major prize winner in the 1994 Gisborne International Music Competition and a permanent member of Orchestra Victoria from 1992 to 1995. Currently she performs with the Melbourne and Tasmanian symphony orchestras, and has worked with many ensembles, including the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, Amsterdam Sinfonietta and Malando Tango Orkest.

Other collaborations include performances with singer Luka Bloom in Dublin and Amsterdam, a debut CD Bitterzoet with renowned jazz pianist Mark Fitzgibbon, and work with Australian composer Andrew Schultz in The Children’s Bach for Chamber Made Opera. Recent performances include recitals with the pianist Kristian Chong and the violinist Anne Harvey-Nagl, and at the Peninsula Summer Music Festival, the Ngeringa Farm Concert series in Adelaide, and with Songmakers Australia at the Melbourne Recital Centre.
